Watch the 2017 Summer Documentary, "Tides of Tomorrow : Creating a Culture of Aquatic Sustainability"
The two-week youth Summer Documentary workshop was held during the weeks of July 17th and 24th. The program was open to children entering 7th, 8th or 9th grade (as of September 2017). Students created a quality documentary and had training in documentary storytelling, interviewing techniques, effective use of production equipment such as camera, mics, lighting and audio, editing and post production.
Over the years, students have put together award winning documentaries about local icons and businesses that trend, will likely continue this year as the kids and instructors focused their attention on Island Creek Oysters in Duxbury. The resulting documentary short explores the concept of aquaculture and sustainable food sources. The students conducted the interviews and shot the documentary at Island Creek Oysters over a period of two days and edited their movie with the help of the PACTV staff.
PACTV is offering the summer documentary workshops again in 2018. Details will be provided in January, 2018. We hope you enjoy the documentary short and the Behind the Scenes video below!
