Production Training / Ongoing Classes

Orientation

Capacity: 25
Sessions: 1

Orientation is a mandatory pre-requisite for all production classes at PACTV. The orientation session is intended to give new members an overview of rules and operating procedures at PACTV. New members will also register for classes during this session.

Camcorder Certification

Capacity: 6
Sessions: 1

Pre-requisite: Orientation

This class will train the student in basic camcorder skills and provide an orientation to the Canon VIXIA HF200, disc based HD camera. This 2 hour session is a required for enrollment in any of our production series.

Location Audio

Capacity 6
Sessions: 1

Pre-requisite: Camcorder Certification (or proven experience with a digital video camera)

 

This workshop will offer enhanced audio techniques that include; working with portable audio mixers, boom mics, and other audio sources for those more demanding location shoots.

Location Lighting

Pre-requisite: Camcorder Certification (or proven experience with a digital video camera)

This workshop will offer basic lighting techniques for interior remote locations.

Editing

Capacity: 6
Sessions: 3
Pre-requisite: Camcorder Certification (or proven experience with a digital video camera)

This series explores basic non-linear editing techniques with Adobe Premiere Elements. Students will learn to make edit choices, create titles, edit audio and author their projects to DVD and formats for the web. This series pre-qualifies students for enrollment in Advanced Post Production.

Studio A Series

Capacity: 10
Sessions: 9

This class will provide students with a series of certifications on the key components of a studio production. Members may be certified for the entire series or elect for certification in individual modules such as studio camera, lighting or audio. Sessions will be broken out into the following modules:

  • Module 1: Studio Camera
    1 session
  • Module 2: Studio Lighting
    1 session
  • Module 3: Audio Mixing
    1 session
  • Module 4: Technical Directing
    1 session
  • Module 5: Inscriber CG
    1 session
  • Module 6: Hands On Lab
    1 session
  • Module 7: Studio Directing Basics
    1 session
  • Module 8: Final Project
    1 session
